Here’s David applying the finishing touches to our exhibition stand ready to go to the show. I wonder if karl lagerfeld will be spraying his own stand this weekend?

Come to think of it I wonder if David will be wearing a tiny collared shirt with a teenie weenie little tie?

Whilst in Liverpool last month David and Stephanie popped into our stockist, Weavers Door.

Weavers Door have been stocking UW since they opened two years ago. They aim to provide inspirational, high quality and carefully selected brands into their store. If you are in or around London anytime soon and haven’t seen Richard Wilson’s 1987 piece titled 20:50 then may we suggest a visit to the Saatchi Gallery.

Situated in gallery 15 on the lower ground floor, 20:50 is the only permanent installation at the Saatchi Gallery and has been in each of the gallery’s venues since 1991.

At first glace the room looks to have a highly polished black floor that perfectly reflects the rooms light architecture, it’s only on closer inspection and after you read about the piece that you realise that in-fact what you are looking at is a room completely flooded in recycled engine oil. Amazing!

As a kid, when I was not outside playing football, I would be inside on the kitchen table, playing Subbuteo with my brother and my mate.

I always wanted to be Brazil of course, based on the news from Rio right now, the stadium on my mother’s kitchen table might be better than the Maracana!  I thought these images might bring back a few Subbuteo playing memories for those of us old enough to remember it!

The Milk Race returned on Sunday the 26th for the first time in 20 years and was held in our fair city of Nottingham.

From 1958 to 1993 the Milk Race was a prestigious event in the British cycling calendar, a multi stage race held over multiple days across a number of locations.

Team UW share a love of cycling so headed into the city centre to enjoy the days events and watch the professionals fly around the city centre course.

The Elite Women’s was won by Olympic Gold winner Dani King and for the Elite Men’s, Alex English took the title.

The guys from Togs and Clogs have teamed up with creative practice Lazerian to produce their SS13 lookbook entilted ‘Classic Dog Moments’

The lookbook features Lazerian’s trusty mascot dog Gerald printed with our UW Grey Marl Yayoi Tee amongst other print pairings from I Love Ugly, Wood Wood, Billionaire Boys Club and Armor-Lux.

Gerald was originally a project by Liam Hopkins (founder of Lazerian studio, Manchester) and Richard Sweeney. Gerald was converted from a computer model into a flat layout, which was then printed onto several sheets of A1 paper. The layout was then hand cut, folded and glued to form a physical model entirely using paper. The triangular joints give the sculpture rigidity, despite the fragility of paper. A miniature, D.I.Y version of Gerald was created and has now been customised by over 100 artists from around the world. They will then travel around different galleries and events. The launch exhibition will be in New York on 16th May 2013. More can be read about the Gerald project here.

Bike Shed Motorcycle Club is all about celebrating motorcycle custom builds, art, photography, design and culture. A place for builders, riders, bloggers, followers and aficionados to congregate and share in their passion for custom bikes through a dedicated website, meets and events.

The London event took place in Shoreditch Studios on May 18th and 19th and had a nice balance of Bikes, clothing, art, photography, food, music and a friendly atmosphere.

If you are remotely interested in any of the above there are definitely worse things you could do with your spare time.

We wanted to make a good looking shoe with great comfort and fit.  The Harry is our homage to the dessert boot in suede and Tom is a simple sneaker in leather.  Both shoes have a crepe sole and the foot bed is more anatomically shaped for greater fit and comfort.

The two styles are based on exsisting J Shoes silhouettes but the materials were hand selected by the designers to provide a versatile look to any spring wardrobe, with a signature golden color and detail.  The Universal Works x J Shoes Collaboration has been offered to a limited number of stores, so get them while you can.
